Porsche Parade 2021-Dallara IndyCar Factory and Indianapolis Motor Speedway MuseumThis driving tour takes us to the town of Speedway, IN, home of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  We will start at the Dallara IndyCar Factory, where they build ALL Indy racecars.  We will have special reserved parking on the street next to the factory. This tour offers visitors the chance to explore 23,000 square feet of interactive and hands-on exhibits centered around the world's fastest sports engineering and technology! We will be given an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of their facilities, including the back-shops where all of the work is done.
This tour includes a catered special modified buffet lunch consisting of Smoked Beef Brisket, Rosemary and Mustard Seed Chicken (GF), Twice Baked Potatoe (GF), a Market House Salad, rolls, and butter. Iced tea and water are included.

Porsche Parade 2021-Dallara IndyCar Factory and Indianapolis Motor Speedway MuseumAn additional "unadvertised special" while at Dallara is to sign up for one of their IndyCar Experience street-legal two-seat Inday car rides! These are specially constructed Indianapolis 500 type cars that have been licensed for the street. For $30, you climb into the rear seat and enjoy a ride around the streets of Speedway, Indiana. This is not part of the formal Parade tour so you'll be doing this on your own if there is time during the tour or if you want to come back later in the day. This opportunity is not advertised on the Dallara website, but you can call them at 317-243-7171 and then press '0' in the options list. This gets you to Jennifer Curran who will take your reservation. Leave a message if necessary. Payment will be made at Dallara the day of your tour. You can also take a chance and sign up the day of the tour, but there may not be slots available. Remember, we will be going to the IMS Museum after Dallara so don't schedule a time that conflicts with that part of the tour.

After lunch, we will drive in our assigned groups the short distance to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) Museum for another guided tour. The IMS Museum collection encompasses automobiles and artifacts representing more than a century of Indianapolis 500 culture, drama, and competition, plus vehicles representing NASCAR, Formula One, American short-track racing, drag racing, and motorcycles. The IMS Hall of Fame – comprised of drivers, team owners, and personalities who have had a significant impact on IMS – is also housed at the Museum.

Porsche Parade 2021-Dallara IndyCar Factory and Indianapolis Motor Speedway MuseumAnother "unadvertised special" at the IMS Museum is the now very special "Basement in 30" limited tours. "What's in the Basement?" Some of you have heard the myths and legends about the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum's basement auto storage. Now, after 40 years of mystery, you can see the treasures for yourself with the IMS Museum's "Basement in 30" tour. This tour is a 30-minute glimpse of these valued vehicles and artifacts, guided and narrated by an experienced IMS Museum Tour Host. With only six guests at a time (must be 16 or older). Learn more at the IMS Museum, including costs. Reservations are strongly suggested, but not required, just email tours@brickyard.com or call 317-492-6784 to book your trip to The Basement! This is not part of the formal Parade Tour and will be done on your own either during or after the formal tour.

Be advised, if you take advantage of either of the "unadvertised specials" in addition to the formal tours at each location, you will likely not get back to French Lick Resort in time to attend at least the start of any banquet (or Thursday nights Patoka Lake Winery tour) for which you may have registered.

Tour capacity is 80 due to limits at Dallara and the Museum. Tour offered Tuesday through Friday, July 13-16.

Tour Note: Due to potential state and local restrictions on group gatherings during Parade Week because of the COVID-19 virus, Parade Tours may be modified, resulting in tour capacities adjusted from what is shown.  Updated information, along with any needed changes, should be available before Phase ll registration (April 7). This information is intended to provide an overview of this tour.
