Porsche Parade 2021-Churchill DownsThis combined driving and bus tour takes us to the world-famous Churchill Downs horse racing track in Louisville, KY.  Horse racing in Kentucky dates back to 1789 when the first racecourse was constructed in Lexington. Almost 100 years later, in 1875, Churchill Downs officially opened its gates in Louisville and began its tradition as "Home of the Kentucky Derby" and the longest continually running sporting event in America.

The driving portion of this tour heads south Porsche Parade 2021-Churchill Downsout of French Lick and then turns onto the scenic Ohio River Scenic Byway, a curvy, scenic route that keeps us off the interstate!  Due to traffic congestion and multiple stoplights in Louisville en route to Churchill Downs, we will stop just west of Louisville in New Albany, IN, park our cars in a school parking lot, and board a bus for the final leg of the trip into Churchill Downs. We will be given a guided tour of the Churchill Downs grounds and the museum, followed by a catered Kentucky Buffet consisting of Kentucky Hot Brown Casserole, BBQ Pork or Brisket, Spring Mix Salad, Country-style Green Beans, Bourbon Bread Pudding, and Derby Pie Bars. Water and Ices Tea are included.

Tour capacity will be 50-55 per day due to bus passenger capacity limits.

Tour offered Tuesday through Friday, July 13-16.

Tour Note: Due to potential state and local restrictions on group gatherings during Parade Week because of the COVID-19 virus, Parade Tours may be modified, resulting in tour capacities adjusted from what is shown.  Updated information, along with any needed changes, should be available before Phase ll registration (April 7).
